una cita en downtown -a downtown date

Es cierto que cuando tienes un hijo tienes menos tiempo para todo, pero siempre debemos sacar así sea unas pocas horas para compartir y distraernos de la rutina con nuestra pareja y que mejor plan que una escapada a un lugar nuevo - It is true that when you have a baby it seems that you don't have enough time for anything, but we should always, at least for a few hours, find a moment to share and relax ourselves with our partner and there's nothing better than going with your special someone to a new place.

Distraerme y escarparme con mi esposo, así sea una vez a la semana para mi es necesario y hasta terapéutico, cuando estamos solos podemos relajarnos, hablar de temas importantes y tomar decisiones más tranquilos. Me encanta conocer nuevos lugares con él y ame cada minuto de esta cita. El Downtown de Houston es hermoso, en esta oportunidad visitamos el Buffalo Bayou Park que tiene una vista increíble, puedes ir a caminar, hacer picnics, trotar, llevar a tu mascota, manejar bicicleta, hacer yoga, en fin, un montón de actividades al aire libre que en verdad provocan con esa vista.

Distracting myself and having some away time with my husband, even if it is only once a week, to me it's both necessary and even therapeutical, when we are by ourselves we can relax, talk about important subjects and take decisions in calmness. I love to go to new places with him and I totally enjoyed every minute of this date. Houston Downtown is beautiful, in this opportunity, we went to the Buffalo Bayou Park which has an incredible view. Is that kind of place where you can go walking, go on a picnic, jogging, taking your pet for a walk, bicycling, do some yoga and lots of outdoor activities enjoying of an amazing view.

Decidimos ir a este sitio porque nos llamo la atención una pared con candados que habíamos visto en una foto días antes, sólo que la pared no está a plena vista cuando llegas al parque. Así que después de buscarla como por 40 minutos o un poco más, Claudio vió unas escaleras que llevaban a un puente peatonal y por fin la vimos. el puente se llama Allen Parkway Bridge y desde allí, la vista de Downtown Houston es increíble, no tiene muchos candados, aparentemente los citadinos no están muy de acuerdo con esta idea de guindar cosas, pero hay un sector específico del puente casi en la mitad, en la que una zona completa esta bastante surtida de candados y fue allí donde tomamos las fotos.

We decided to go to this place because we saw a picture some days earlier of a padlocks wall and we loved it, the only problem is that the wall isn't the first thing you see when you arrive to the park. So, after looking around for about 40 minutes or more, Claudio saw some stairs that took us to a walking trail and we finally found the famous wall. The place is called Allen Parkway Bridge and from there the downtown view is amazing, the wall doesn't have lots of locks, apparently the citizens doesn't like the idea of hanging stuff to the wall, but there's an specific part of the bridge almost in the middle, that you could see many padlocks gathered together and there's where we took the pictures.

Después de tanto caminar nos provocó comernos algo y decidimos ir a "SWEET PARIS", un café francés en CITYCENTER hermoso donde venden unas crepes demasiado ricas. La decoración del lugar es increíble y la comida y bebidas son aun mejor.

After our long walk, we decided to go and grab something to eat, so we went to "SWEET PARIS", a beautiful French coffee place at CITYCENTER where they sell amazing crepes and coffee. The decoration is incredible and the food and drinks are even better.

*a little advice.

- Cuando tienes un #baby parece que los días duraran 16 horas en vez de 24. En mi caso doy gracias todos los días por estar con mi familia, porque en verdad tengo muchas manos que me ayudan con #babyalessa, todos los días. Sin embargo, los primeros meses para mi esposo y para mi han sido fuertes, porque a #babyalessa todavía le cuesta acostumbrarse a dormir en su cuna y obviamente no dormimos como antes. Estas etapas no son eternas pero si duran su tiempo, entonces considero importante mientras nos toque vivirlas, encontrar un tiempo con mi pareja, en el que podamos compartir sólo los dos, aunque no lo crean, unas pocas horas bastan para relajarse y recuperar fuerzas para los días siguientes.

- When you have a #baby it seems that days last 16 hours instead of 24. In my case I'm really thankful for having my family with me, because lots of help with #babyalessa, everyday. However, these first moths has been hard for me and my husband because #babyalessa still struggling about sleeping in her crib and we haven't slept the same obviously. These stages aren't forever, but they last some time, so I think it's very important to spend time as a couple, only the two of us. Believe me, it just take a few hours to feel relaxed and recharge batteries for the upcoming days.

Ame el #outfit de éste día, los tonos grises son perfectos para lograr un look delicado y sofisticado. Además amo la #houndstooth trend (tendencia a cuadros) porque siento que le da a tu look un toque casual-elegante. Usé los lentes y boca de un color rojo escarlata, para darle un toque diferente y así evitar que el look se viera monótono.

I really LOVED the #outfit I chose for this day. Matching grey shades is perfect if you want to get a delicate a sophisticated look. Plus, I'm loving this #houndstooth trend, feel like it gives an casual elegant touch to your look. I used some scarlet red shades and lipstick to add a little extra so that the outfit didn't look monotonous.

comenzar una vida en un nuevo país es super difícil. Está lleno de retos y sacrificios que debemos superar a diario. Pero son sacrificios que hacemos por la más pequeñita de la casa y nuestra más grande bendición #babyalessa, y cada uno de ellos vale la pena. No siempre son días buenos, pero en lo personal, intento siempre buscarle el lado positivo a todo, creo que la resiliencia es la mejor forma de aceptar y lidiar con este tipo de cambios. Por eso, en mi siempre encontraran a una persona que intenta ser lo mas positiva posible, aunque a veces no sea tan fácil para mi, me he puesto eso de tarea, porque en verdad me ayuda a sacarle provecho a cada situación y a afrontar todo con una mejor actitud.

starting a new life in a new country is really hard. It is filled with many challenges and sacrifices we have to overcome everyday. But this sacrifices are made for our biggest blessing so far #babyalessa, and they're worth every second. Some days aren't that good, but personally I try to always find the good in every situation. I think resilience is the best way to accept and deal with this type of changes. That's why you'll always find in me a person who tries to be as positive as possible, even thought sometimes it is not that easy. I've made up my mind to be that way, because it helps me to get advantage of every situation and adapt and face everything with a better attitude.
